CAN Controller area network
The controller area network (CAN) is a serial bus system which features multi-master capabilities at transmission rates up to 1 MBit/s. Because of its flexibility, data integrity, and robustness it has become the de-facto communication standard in today’s automotive industries. Originally developed for automotive applications it is also being used as field bus system for industrial control applications. FUJITSU offers a complete line of 16- and 32-bit microcontrollers with a full featured CAN Bus protocol controller as on-chip peripheral for automotive and industrial applications - all of them supporting ISO11898-1 and ISO11898-2 protocol (CAN 2.0A and 2.0B).
FUJITSU’s automotive and industrial microcontroller technology ranges from 8-bit LIN slave MCUs, through 16-bit controllers with up to three CAN or LIN channels, up to 32-bit controllers and gateways featuring 6 CAN-bus channels, FlexRay and many channels of LIN.
Major features of FUJITSU’s CAN controller:
